group training walk

Are you frustrated because your dog can hear a cupboard open from the opposite side of the house, but doesn't respond when you call them?

Maybe you have a teenage dog who refuses to listen and embarrasses you daily?

Or a new adult rescue dog who has no life skills and you don't know where to start with training?

Or do you just want to be able to take your dog for a walk where they don't try to pull your arm out of its socket?

I can help!

With our Basics and beyond dog training we can cover a variety of life skills, to help improve your and your dog's confidence, develop good lead walking, recall and more!

We have worked with Jenny before with Kobe but now have a puppy so needed some more help with the new addition Kali!

Jenny takes the time to get to know your dog and the things you’re struggling with before putting a plan of action together to move your training forward.

Whatever you’re struggling with, Jenny will find a solution and support you through implementing it.
The love she has for the dogs she meets is something I’ve not seen before in other trainers!

We have been introduced to so many different activities to get Kali’s brain working making things more difficult as time goes on.

I wouldn’t go anywhere else for help with my dogs now we have met and worked with Jenny!

We also have asked Jenny to walk Kali a few times whilst we have had difficulties due to an injury, no matter how big or small the ask, I always feel at ease approaching.

Oh and it helps that the dogs love her as much as she does them!

I can not recommend Jenny enough. I have a dog (Dragon) who has a tendency to follow her nose when off lead and have been at a loss as to how to deal with this for a while, nothing seemed to work for us both. Jenny was really attentive, she asked me lots of questions and made sure that she worked with both me and Dragon to come up with a plan to improve her recall. It was such a change from other sessions where I've been given a one size fits all solution or masses of thing to try and do which I haven't been able to stick to. I really felt like Jenny considered my abilities as well as Dragons and that is something which makes me incredibly happy to recommend her to others.

Basics and beyond... How it works!

Kickstarter session

  • We get to know one another. I can observe your dog, and have chance to understand the training needs.

  • We identify key sticking points, and your dogs main difficulty or distractions.

  • Actionable management can be put in place, and we can get started with some practical training.

Where from here? During progression sessions...

  • Build Motivation! Without a motivated dog, training will be hard! We will explore what motivates your dog, and how to utilise this to get the most from your partnership.

  • promoting engagement with you, and a positive mental state is a priority - we want our dog to want to be with us, and work with us! so we will utilise games to promote and encourage this. Adding in games and play can help keep the dog in a more optimistic state of mind, this will earn trust, and promote cooperation.

  • Teach new skills! We will break down each skill, and build it back foundation up. This sets you and your dog up to succeed and minimise frustration.

  • Proofing the behaviour! We will increaser the duration of the behaviour and add in real world distractions to ensure the behaviour is solid.

  • Time to generalise... we will work to make sure your dog can cope, and thrive in a variety of contexts.

Now the work should be paying off

''Jenny has worked wonders on my two spaniels who struggle with loose lead walking. Jenny was really easy to talk to and took the time to listen to all of my concerns and our unique situation. She then provided an intensive session of learning, demoing and practising and then sent me an action plan of all the effective and novel recommendations we had worked on so I could easily implement them at home. I feel very positive, supported and motivated whilst working with Jenny and I’m sure with her guidance we will get my crazy beasts tamed''

'I have a 1yr old ID who we've had from a puppy. He was a difficult puppy and then he hit adolescence!

Jen has been our saviour. Honestly believe we would've rehomed him if we hadn't employed Jen.

She helped me understand his behaviour and development, taught me how to manage him during this difficult time.

If something doesn't work for us she'll find another way or a different approach. Training sessions are fun and her support has been unwavering.'

To recognise the true nature of each domesticated dog and work with their innate behaviours rather than against them.

To love them as they are.
